Balenciaga - Kublin is a book that celebrates the artistic collaboration between fashion photographer Tom Kublin and the iconic designer Christopher Balenciaga during the years of splendor of haute couture in Paris in the 1950s and 1960s. It documents Kublin’s short but striking career through over 140 photographs and frames, highlighting the elegance of Balenciaga’s collections and editorials, including previously unpublished images of the designer in action.
The book opens with a prologue by Maria Kublin, followed by a text written by Ana Balda exploring Kublin’s connection with European vanguardism and her professional relationship with Balenciaga. It also includes contributions from figures such as Miren Vives, director of the Cristóbal Balenciaga Museum, interviews with close collaborators of Kublin, and an essay by Lydia Slater, editor of Harper’s Bazaar UK.
